A Cozy Evening Nest
Coming in from the balcony breeze, I padded toward the warm pool of light beside the sofa. A thick knitted wool throw had slipped halfway onto the rug, folding into soft ridges. I gripped the chunky loops of yarn with both paws and tugged until they bunched together into a small circular nest. Stepping carefully into the hollow, I circled twice, patting the soft folds down flat beneath my feet. Sitting back against the cushioned slope, I leaned my head on the warm knit and listened to the distant hum of the nighttime street.
