A Cozy Ember
I nudged myself along the floor, inching onto the thick woolen rug near the dark, unlit hearth. It was chilly in the open room, but right before me lay a folded woven blanket with loose fringes dangling low. I gave the fringe a gentle bump with my rind, watching the threads sway. Then, deep inside, my glow began to hum. I let the warm amber light beam through my heart-shaped eyes, illuminating the colorful threads with a cozy, fire-like warmth. It felt as though I was tucking myself in for a quiet evening rest.
