A Bold Signal

I leaped straight onto the iron-slatted radiator cover by the front window! The view had to be surveyed, but an oversized, glossy blue postcard had flopped face down right across the warm vents, choking off the grand ascent of heat. An impermissible blockage! I planted my boots firmly onto the cool metal grating, hooked my hands beneath the sturdy cardboard edge, and heaved upward with all my might. With a crisp flip, the card stood upright, propped proudly against the window frame like a banner of victory. Warmth surged freely into the air once more!
