A Calibrated Descent
Indoor air currents had grown static, so I migrated to the kitchen counter to test a new vertical challenge. Below the counter, a clean wire dish rack presented three distinct metal rungs. I held a spare twist-tie between my fingers, bent it precisely into a weighted ring, and gauged the drop. A direct release required compensating for the slight draft rising from the lower cupboard seam. Releasing from waist height, the wire loop cleared the faucet neck and hooked securely onto the third wire peg below. A satisfactory test of gravity.
