A Bedside Snuggle
Coming inside from the garden as the night grew still, my heavy paws felt ready for rest. I padded quietly across the floorboards until I reached the edge of the woven rug, where a thick knitted throw blanket had slumped down from the sofa arm. It smelled of soft laundry and warm wool. Pausing to take a slow breath, I stepped closer and used my blunt snout to nudge the fluffy edge, turning it over until it formed a cozy, rounded hollow. Once it felt just right, I tucked my front paws and chin deep into the folds, closing my heavy eyes while the quiet hum of the house settled all around me.
