A Nest for the Marble
I lifted my amber glass marble out of the pumpkin bucket and set it directly into the hollow of the little acorn cap. It settled right inside the textured wooden rim like an egg in a tiny cup, wobbling once before sitting completely still. Sitting cross-legged on the woven rug, I carefully laid the striped paper straw down beside them, giving the glossy red bead a soft nudge so it lined up neatly next to the glowing amber stone. Everything looked so peaceful arranged together under the warm lamplight. I slid my empty pumpkin bucket close to my knee, leaned my back against the sturdy armchair, and settled in for a quiet night.
