A Tiny Grip
My ears twitched first. A faint sigh slipped from my throat, soft like a warm breath. I blinked against the quiet dimness, looking down at my hands. The small white frog resting between them felt smooth and cool. Slowly, my fingers curled, tightening just a bit around its pale middle. It did not leap away. Looking up, I saw the dark boot of the tall figure towering right beside me. I gave a tiny coo, leaning my head against the heavy heel, holding my little friend firmly.
