Tucking in Tired Paws
I padded slowly across the living room floorboards, trailing the fresh scent of crushed clover behind me. Two wispy dandelion seeds were still clinging to the fluffy fur on my front ankle from my afternoon in the grass. I sat back on my haunches and gave my paws a gentle, deliberate shake against the rug until the pale tufts fluttered free. With a soft sigh, I clambered into the warm, familiar fold of the knit sofa throw right beside my smooth acorn and speckled feather. I tucked my paws tight under my chin, ready for a long, quiet sleep.
