A Strap for the Journey
I examined the snapped leather pouch containing my transit card and coin. It was securely shut, but lacked a proper way to be carried. Scanning the woven tray, I spotted a sturdy black woven lanyard looped beside the brass keys. I stepped forward with steady care and nudged the small metal swivel clip with my flippers, guiding it toward the brass D-ring on the pouch corner. Leaning in with my full weight, I pressed the clip's spring lever against the ring until it snapped into place with a clear click. Now my travel pack has a dependable strap.
