Berry Bright Morning

I slipped out through the apartment lobby and trotted down the sidewalk to the bustling neighborhood fruit market! The wooden fruit stands were lined up along the curb, piled high with colorful morning produce. I scrambled up the slatted side of a cedar crate right up to a neat stack of green cardboard berry pints. Tucked between the cartons was a bright magenta pricing marker with a little leopard-print sticker sealing its clip. Gripping the smooth plastic marker with both plush paws, I hoisted it upright and wedged it firmly into a pint of glistening blackberries. Now these glossy berries have the most fabulous, glamorous display in the whole market!
