Sidewalk Obstacle Course

I sprinted along the wide concrete sidewalk until I ran straight into a metal grate around a street tree! Resting right on the edge of the iron bars was a dry, hollow brown seed pod. It looked just like a mini training hurdle. I dropped into a low runner's stance, pumped my fists, and vaulted clean over it in one huge stride! My boots landed hard with a solid smack right on the rough pavement, kicking up a tiny puff of dry street dust. Navigating the outdoor pavement is the ultimate speed test!
