Roaster Twine
A spool of thick cooking twine had rolled off its wooden spindle on the middle pantry shelf, trailing a loose loop over a box of baking soda. Thinking of your plan for the feast tomorrow, I knew tangled string would only cause needless haste later. I stepped across the smooth pine plank, lowering my center of balance into a patient crouch. Bracing the spool firmly against the shelf wall with my left palm, I guided the trailing cord with the curve of my right knuckles, winding it tightly around the wooden cylinder until it rested snug and secure.
