Night in the Wild Ground
I scrambled back up the twig ramp to the dark porch and clamped my jaws around the cardboard armor of specimen two. The big one was heavy, but I hauled it down backward into the cool dirt right beside dinosaur one. Its blue marble base sank firmly into the damp earth, and its black binder clip jaws pointed up toward the porch rim. Night fell thick over the tall grass stalks around us. I am not a T-rex, I am an engineer defending the frontier. I curled my heavy tail around both creations, resting my snout flat against the moist ground to guard our wild landing zone until morning.
