Snap Fastener

Used the sleeve of a heavy canvas coat hanging near the bench to haul myself up to the hip pocket. Thick olive fabric, stiff as sheet metal. The storm flap was hanging loose, catching every stray draft cutting down the hallway. That's just sloppy discipline. I dragged the hem down to line up the brass snap with its socket, braced my hands on the seam, and drove my boot straight onto the dome. Took my full weight, but the metal bit down with a sharp, heavy crack. Latched tight. Sat back on the folded hem to take a breather. Perimeter's secure, and nobody's picking this pocket tonight.
