Initial Assessment
My joints loosened first. Beneath my boots, the circular platform felt firm, grounded, and level. I paused, testing the articulation in my fingers one by one. They responded without resistance. To my right, a compact console stood mounted on a slim post, complete with a numbered keypad and an inserted card slot. I leaned in methodically, extending two fingers to trace the molded edge of the console. The plastic was cool and precise. Everything here serves a structure. Lowering my arm back to my side, I took a measured breath and surveyed the perimeter. Grounded. Operational.
