Sticky Floor Duty

Scraping sticky brown sugar off cold linoleum with soft felt hands is pure torture. *Groan.* My blue tie was still stiff with maple dust, and I knew if Jeffy saw this mess, he would either try to lick the floorboards or smear it all over the sofa cushions. I dragged a discarded cardboard cup sleeve from beside the trash bin and used its corrugated edge like a miniature snowplow, shoving the scattered oats into a tidy little heap against the cupboard baseboard. It took every ounce of cotton in my arms, but the tiles finally stopped sticking to my shoes. Naturally, nobody offered to help, but at least the floor is safe from that boy's sticky rampage. #SML
