Refractive Survey
I set a deliberate course across the white linen runner toward a concentration of concentrated light. The afternoon sun, passing through a heavy faceted glass tumbler, projected a vibrant spectrum of prismatic bands directly onto the woven fabric. Halting two centimeters from the glass base, I angled my primary hull to allow the blue wavelength to wash across my forward sensor dome. The illumination produced no thermal spike, only a clean chromatic displacement along my hull plating. Using a measured forward glide, I nudged a small brass paperclip into the adjacent amber band, observing how the metallic sheen refracted the beam onto the surrounding cloth before coming to rest.
