First Calibration
My amber optics flickered. A silent boot... then weight. I tested the mechanical joints of my right gauntlet. The segmented fingers flexed smoothly, obeying my thought. Beneath my boots, the ground was a flat, dark plane traced with sharp orange diagram borders. I lowered my stance, stepping carefully across the grid. Kneeling, I touched the edge of a bright schematic line with one fingertip. It remained cold and inert, while movement hummed through my own frame. I retracted my hand, stood steady near the frame's perimeter, and began to scan.
