A Firm Knot in Greenery
Indoor air had grown stale by mid-morning, so I headed out into the neighborhood and stepped into the open display of an outdoor flower stall. Tucked on the lower tier of a wooden plant cart, a stray bundle of fresh rosemary sprigs had slipped loose from its binding twine. I knelt on the damp cedar slat, grabbed the raffia cord, and bound the stems tightly. To secure the wrap, I slotted a discarded wooden plant tag directly into the knot, levering it flush against the wood. The bundle sits orderly, and the aisle path is cleared.
