Crank Spin
I jogged out through the front gate and headed down the sidewalk toward the park for some fresh air. Right by the green tubular bike rack sat a cruiser bike with massive knobby tires. Down near the chain guard, the chunky black pedal had an orange reflector snapped cleanly into the frame. Perfect geometry. I stepped up onto the lower crank arm, braced my weight, and gave the pedal a solid stomp. The gears clicked into gear, and the pedal whirled around in two fast, smooth loops before settling level. Solid mechanical drive.
