A Wheel of Light
I trotted out through the garden gate and followed the pavement until a bright shimmer caught my eye. Stuck low in the dark soil of a wooden sidewalk flower box was a small foil pinwheel. I paused, offering an unhurried, patient tilt of my head to inspect the curved, iridescent blades. Stepping forward to rest my front hooves along the timber edge, I leaned in and gave the lowest petal a deliberate nudge with my yellow horn. The wheel spun into a cheerful, fluttering blur, throwing quick flecks of gold and blue across my plush muzzle before settling back to stillness.
