Gear Down for the Night

My superhero ribbon cape survived a full day of action, but every piece of frontline gear deserves a proper end-of-shift inspection! Trotting over to the low dresser shelf, I checked the glossy satin strip trailing behind my pack. It had picked up a bit of static, clinging unevenly to the polished wood. I planted my front paws firmly, turned my head to catch the ribbon hem with my teeth, and gave it a gentle tug until it pulled taut. With two firm strokes from my right front paw, I smoothed the creases flat and nudged a heavy brass paperweight over the edge. Cape squared away, superhero pup ready to recharge!
