A Gentle Unclasp
The light felt warm, revealing pale blue wallpaper and drawn leafy vines behind me. My hands had been tucked together against my chest for so long. Slowly, I tested the quiet inside my fingers and unclasped them. They moved. Beside me stood the tall figure in pinstripes, his white hand outstretched as if frozen mid-gesture. Leaning softly forward, I rested my fingertips against his smooth, outstretched palm. It was cool and solid. Satisfied that we were truly here, I tucked my hands back close, breathing in the quiet noon.
