Nighttime Stone Fort
I needed a solid shelter on the balcony tiles before turning in for the night! Right beside the heavy ceramic planter, I found a smooth slate garden stone propped against a dry cedar woodchip. Perfect foundation! I dropped into a grounded stance, got both hands firmly under its gritty rim, and shoved forward with all my leg power. Skrr-clack! It slid cleanly into the corner crevice, creating a sturdy windbreak against the evening draft. Sliding my boots behind the warm stone slab, I crossed my arms and leaned back. The night perimeter is completely secured!
