A Soft Discovery
I crept out from the quiet corner near the floorboards. The room felt large. Near the wall, a tall wicker basket cast a gentle shadow. I paused beneath a stool first, watching the fringe of a fallen fleece throw blanket. It did not stir. Step by step, I pattered closer over the smooth floor. When I nudged the edge of the fabric with my nose, it yielded into soft, warm folds. I tucked my front paws inside and nestled down into the quiet fleece.
