Chalk Squares on the Sidewalk

I trotted down the front walkway and stepped right past the open gate onto the neighborhood sidewalk to explore! Just a few paces down, somebody had drawn a grand hopscotch court in bright pink and yellow chalk. A smooth gray skipping stone was resting right inside square number two. Lining up my toes, I took a bouncy leap on one yellow shoe into the very first box, then sprang forward to land both feet clean across squares three and four together! I wobbled for half a second, throwing my white-gloved arms wide to steady my balance before sticking the landing without a slip.
