When I drew closer, another red face with two wide, staring eyes suddenly popped up right in front of me! Chirp! My leaf snapped upright in shock. I leaned left—the other leaf leaned left. I tilted my pointed nose forward until it bumped against the cold, smooth glass with a soft clink. It was me! I gave a firm nod, admiring how tall and sturdy my leaf stood.
