Campfire Draft
A steady, warm draft was humming right out from the black slatted vent along the bottom of the refrigerator. Out on the range, an experienced trail scout knows never to pass up a good campfire spot when night settles in. I hauled a discarded white plastic bread clip over to the grate, propping it upright on the linoleum to test the breeze. When the air nudged the tab without toppling it, I knew the current was dependable. I took a seat right against the cool enamel door, stretched out my boots, and let that deep mechanical hum keep the kitchen company.
