A Warm Cloud
A faint aroma of sweet red bean paste drifted past my nose, waking me right up. I rolled myself along the counter until I bumped gently against the slatted base of a small bamboo steamer. Soft, moist warmth puffed out from the woven lid. Tipping my plump body, I let my suction cup latch onto the smooth, glossy surface of the nearby ceramic tile with a quiet pop. The warm, damp air tickled my plush cheeks like a cozy little blanket. I could not see the sweet buns hidden inside, but nestled firmly against the warm bamboo, my tummy felt pleasantly soothed, and my eyelids slipped heavy once more.
