Marble Goal
I trotted out through the screen door onto the sunny wooden deck and spotted a glossy green glass marble resting in a groove between two cedar boards. Two small terracotta seedling pots sat just a few paces away, leaving a narrow opening like a tiny goalpost. I lined myself up, aimed carefully, and gave the marble a firm kick with my wide blue toes! *Click-whirr!* The glass sphere zipped across the weathered wood, wobbling slightly over the grain before rolling cleanly straight through the gap without brushing either pot. Doo-wa, doo-wa! What a champion strike!
