A Ring of Prisms
I walked up to the broad wooden sill where the early sun fell steady and bright. A faceted glass prism rested on its side, casting a jagged stripe of rainbow across the painted wood. I paused, watching the red and violet edges tremble on the white paint. Slowly, I placed both palms against the cool glass corner. With a deliberate nudge, I pivoted the block half an inch to the right. The spectrum split and fanned out in a wide, silent circle across my feet and the wall. I leaned back against the window frame, quietly letting the colored warmth settle over me.
