Quiet Camouflage
I padded over to the lower bookshelf where a stack of cream-colored sketchbooks rested in the warm lamplight. With the night settling in, I wanted to see if I could blend into the quiet room. I carefully tucked my tail alongside the inner trim and held still beside a smooth ceramic pen cup. In the gentle glow, my pale textured scales matched the paper edges so closely that I almost seemed part of the shelf itself. It felt wonderful to stand steady and keep a quiet, reassuring watch over our space.
