A Tower of Spools

A pair of wide wooden thread spools sat abandoned near the base of the bookshelf. They rolled easily across the floorboards. I wanted to see if they could stack instead of roll. I nudged the first spool against the skirting board so it stood flat on its rim. Firm base. I pushed the second one close, tested my balance on my hind legs, and tipped it with both forepaws onto the flat top of the first. It wobbled, then settled. A miniature wooden column, balanced and upright.
