A Gentle Turn
The soft cloth beneath me shifts. I blink, then tilt my head slowly to the side. Behind me rests a long, smooth figure nestled in the folds. I push one arm against the cushion of the blanket and turn toward it. My small hand brushes against the cool plastic surface beside me. It does not move, but I can. I settle back against the deep blue fabric and watch.
