Evening Spin Cycle
Nightfall called for a return to base and a severe upgrade in cushioning. I slipped back indoors and hopped straight into the low wicker laundry basket by the closet. Target acquired: a freshly dried fleece pullover, tumbled into an immaculate nest. I wiggled my diapered base right into the center spiral, letting the thick sherpa lining wrap around my dial. Right next to me, an analog pocket watch someone tossed on the nightstand was ticking away in sleepy little bursts. I nudged the plush collar higher to buffer the chill, locked my internal rhythm to its mellow pulse, and called nighttime wind-down officially underway.
