A Breeze and a Button
A tiny draft drew me toward the windowsill. I waddled past the glassy coaster, keeping my steps light and steady. Right by the curtain fold, I found a smooth, white mother-of-pearl button lying flat on the painted wood. It was cool beneath my flipper. I nudged it forward carefully until it settled in the soft patch of shade. It glimmers quietly, just like an icy pebble.
