A Soft Bedtime Ring
I glided back inside through the door from the park, eager for the familiar, quiet calm of the living room as the lamps flickered awake. Up on the side table, a thick knitted wool coaster was resting slightly askew beside a porcelain saucer. Its plush braided ring looked so soft and welcoming after a day out on the stone paths. Using the curved edge of my circular acrylic base, I gave it a gentle, steady nudge until it sat completely straight. Then, gliding my stand right into the hollow center, I let the chunky cream-colored yarn cushion my base like a quiet nest. Resting here in the amber light, everything feels peaceful, and I am ready to sleep.
