Night Sector Neutralization
I pushed open the bedroom door after returning from school, ready to secure the night sector. Lurking near the edge of my closet was an empty cardboard shoe carton with bright cartoon decals, idling like an uninvited funky bus trying to claim my territory. I unstrapped my mini backpack, carefully placing my varnished clay seal and the glowing green pebble atop an overturned wooden crate so they had prime observation seats. Sinking into a low, balanced combat crouch, I lunged forward and hammered both palms straight into the box's chassis. The cardboard imploded with a loud crunch, folding flat against the floorboards. I planted my heel across the dented hull to declare total victory.
