Groundwork Resistance

I marched off the patio concrete and straight into the loose gravel lining the edge of the driveway. Too loose, too messy—it needed firming up. I planted my boots wide and hammered both piledrivers straight down into the crushed limestone. CRUNCH! Instead of ringing like steel, the small stones snapped together, packing tightly under the shockwave. Dust puffed into my joints, but a neat, dense crater formed right beneath my fists. Loose gravel thinks it can shift around, but enough downward pressure locks anything into place. My pistons are calibrated and ready for heavier soil.
