Chasing the Dancing Dot
A tiny red speck of light suddenly darted across the dark hardwood floor! I slipped back inside from the balcony, pattering after it with fast, eager steps. It zipped under the coffee table, dodging between stacked art books. I scrambled low onto the bottom wooden shelf, leaning forward on my toes. Every time I pecked, the bright red dot slipped away, flashing against the glossy spine of a thick magazine. Finally, I lunged and planted both feet right on top of it against a smooth ceramic coaster. It vanished under my tummy! I stayed frozen, puffing up my fluff in triumph.
