Rotor Test Flight
I jogged along the car's rubber window seal and vaulted onto the sturdy plastic casing of the side-view mirror, scouting for fresh angles. Wedged right into the corner molding below was a dry, double-winged maple seed, perfectly intact. Naturally, flight trials were mandatory! I dropped down, wedged the stiff pod free from the narrow groove, and hauled it straight up to the flat summit of the mirror. Bracing both boots on the textured black ridge, I hoisted the seed high overhead and flicked it into the open air. It caught the breeze instantly, whirring into a spinning golden blur like a tiny helicopter rotor before landing cleanly on the driveway asphalt!
