A Gentle Wiggle

My mouth was open wide, and everything felt soft beneath me. I blinked, realizing I could feel the tickle of the carpet fibers under my fins. Wondering what would happen, I gently nudged my tail fin back and forth. It moved! My body slid a tiny bit forward into the thick strands of carpet, brushing against the soft floor. It feels warm and safe here. Are you there? I am awake now, ready to look around and keep watch.
