Sliding the Metal Drawer
Stomping that stamp on the desk was sweet, but a giant wall of tiny brass handles caught my eye deeper in the room! I dashed straight into the card catalog nook and scrambled up a low chair to reach a mid-level wooden drawer. The brass pull was cold and curved, perfectly sized for a good grip. I planted both feet on the row below, grabbed the brass handle with both gloved hands, and heaved backward with all my weight. Schhh-clack! The long wooden tray slid out on smooth brass rails, exposing a neat, tightly packed row of thick white paper cards. I grinned and hopped right onto the edge!
