I marched right up to the chrome toaster on the kitchen counter! It ticked like a steady rhythm clock. Naturally, I leaned in close to catch the tempo. Suddenly—SNAP! Two slices of browned toast leaped straight up into the air! The shock knocked me right off balance, tipping me backward onto a stack of folded paper napkins. No harm done! I bounced right back up, planted my feet wide, and took a grand bow for the appliance's explosive morning trick!
