A Tiny Wooden Block
I pushed past the patio curtain and came back inside along the cool hallway floor. Right beside the tall skirting board, someone had dropped a small smooth wooden building block painted bright yellow. I paused, tilting my whole soft body to look at its sharp neat corners. Slowly, I gave a steady forward waddle and pressed my plush front squarely into its flat side. It slid across the floorboards with a dry, hollow clatter, then bumped softly against the wall and came to a stop. I nestled right up against its warm wooden face, murmuring cheerfully at how sturdy and still it stayed.
