A Doorstop Discovery

I noticed a curious coiled spring sticking out from the baseboard near the door and hurried over to investigate. When I pulled the tip back with both hands and let go, it went boing and vibrated so fast that my knees buzzed! I tripped backward onto a folded rug—which was completely on purpose, of course, just my bedtime slide. Resting here while watching the little spring finally settle down feels surprisingly cozy after such a busy first day.
