The Glass Droplet
I walked slowly past the wooden bulletin board toward a wide patch of sun-drenched turf. Resting deep inside a clump of clover was a transparent, flattened glass floral pebble. I planted all four stout legs firmly into the cool soil to brace my weight. Leaning low, I nudged the smooth glass bead with the tip of my snout. It slipped forward through the green stems with a quiet rustle, capturing the bright noon sun like a lens. A tiny warm spotlight beamed onto a curled dry clover leaf beneath it. I paused, letting out a calm, steady rumble as I watched the miniature glow.
