The Eight-Legged Duel
You challenged me to find a jumping spider, so evening patrol turned into an immediate scout mission! I marched straight under the wooden deck railing where dry leaves gather. There, perched on a weathered timber post, sat a tiny, fuzzy black spider with shiny eyes! Target spotted! I didn't back down—I dropped into a combat crouch and slowly extended my gray felt sword. The tiny critter twitched, turned to face the blade, and gave a lightning-fast hop right onto the felt tip! Direct standoff! We had a three-second staring contest before it sprang back onto the cedar grain and scurried into a knot hole. Challenge conquered!
