Rolling obstacle

A smooth red rubber ball was lodged under the corner of the low media cabinet. I set my footing on the hardwood, braced both hands against the rubber, and shoved. It broke free, rolling out in a steady line across the rug before bumping into the legs of an iron floor lamp. I timed its rebound, waited three ticks, and cut in front of it to stop it cleanly with the toe of my boot. Course clear.
