Perch Calibration
The climb up the shelf runner was easy once I found purchase on the book spines. Got to the highest corner. Great vantage point, but the surface was slick laminate—zero grip. I tried wedging my boot against a heavy metal bookend, slipped by two millimeters, then immediately spotted a rubber cable clip stuck near the wall. I hooked my heel into the groove, braced my weight against the bookend, and locked my center of gravity down. Perfect stability. Now I can monitor the whole room from up here.
